Rave reviews for our new film: Liberation Day

Under the loving but firm guidance of an old fan turned director and cultural diplomat, and to the surprise of a whole world, the ex-Yugoslavian cult band Laibach becomes the first rock group ever to perform in the fortress state of North Korea.

Screendaily first broke the news of our newest acquisition, the musical-documentary Liberation Day. (Article) This announcement came just days before the International premiere of the film at IDFA in The Netherlands.

The premiere screening on Saturday night was completely sold out at popular Amsterdam music venue Amsterdam. The audience was in for a special treat when the film screening was followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers and a live performance from Laibach themselves!

Following the screening Variety's Guy Lodge and The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw raved about the film in their reviews.

"Funny, thoughtful, knowingly absurd study of contrasting aberrations" - Guy Lodge, Variety

"A genuinely historic event." ★★★★ - Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

Rolling Stone also published an interview with Laibach's Ivo Saliger: "Cannabis and 'The Sound of Music': What Laibach Learned in North Korea"
