New Acquisition - Village at the End of the World
October 18th, 2012
Dogwoof is pleased to announce a deal with Met Film which would see the company handle Sarah Gavron (Brick Lane) and co-director David Katznelson’s new film Village at the End of the World as UK distributor and International Sales representatives. In a deal brokered between Oli Harbottle and Vesna Cudic of Dogwoof/Dogwoof Global and Al Morrow of Met Film, this will be the second collaboration between the two companies after a successful release of Town of Runners earlier this year.
Lars is the only teenager in town who, in a community of hunters, doesn't want to hunt. Niaqornat in North West Greenland has a population of 59, if the population falls below 50 then the village loses its Danish subsidies and there is a danger of the entire village being relocated to the nearest town. Whilst the rest of the community pull together to try and re-open the fish-factory, Lars begins to plan his escape.
Al Morrow (Met Film) "We are thrilled to be working with Dogwoof again. They really understand the feature documentary market and how to reach the widest possible audience through both their UK distribution arm and their international sales team. They have a fresh and innovative approach to getting films out into the world that combines well with the films that we make."
Oli Harbottle (Dogwoof) ‘It is an honour to add Sarah to the list of Dogwoof directors, as she is acknowledged across the UK industry as one of the country’s finest filmmakers - we look forward to collaborating with her on the release.’
